About Us: Our Mission
Portside Arts Center is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) community arts center, located in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. Our mission is to empower the children and adults of our community with opportunities to develop their artistic abilities, awaken the imagination, and build self-esteem and confidence. Through the Arts we provide a safe haven to our community to nurture creativity, diversity, literacy and health for the betterment of all. By building self-awareness, and appreciation of one’s own inner creativity and artistic skills, we aim to transform the lives of individuals, improve their academic and economic success and awaken a person’s social and civic sense in order to raise the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

We at Portside Arts Center are very grateful for the community support and participation we’ve received. Our mission is to provide the community with creative programs and opportunities to develop their artistic abilities, imagination and inner creativity through the instruction of a diverse collection of local, talented artists. We hope Portside will grow into a place where everyone can experience the arts from music to dance to drama to arts and crafts.
We are continuing process of searching out grants and funding to make the arts even more affordable for everyone in our community and create scholarships for our children’s programming. Your encouragement and support are vital to building a strong, vibrant community arts center. We look forward to meeting more and more of our wonderful neighbors, so give us a call, stop by and get involved!

Portside Arts Center is asking for your donation toward scholarships, renovations, and general operations. Your support will allow us to give the highest quality arts instruction at an affordable cost to children of limited resources and our whole community.
